Global History and Kenya: New Fields and New Questions
This conference explores new theories of global history and the role of Kenyan history within a perspective that goes beyond national boundaries, setting new questions that target traditional views of historical enquiries, such as the concept of European history as universal, the dialectics of center and periphery, and empire history. On the contrary, global history aims to establish a new group of relationships and networks that explain contacts and interchange, in which geography plays an important role as part of the historical investigation.
