FINAL CALL – PARI-PSETA Masters Scholarships 2015

The Public Affairs Research Institute (PARI) invites applications for the PARI-PSETA Scholarship Programme available for Masters Study by research at the University of the Witwatersrand.

The Public Service Sector Education & Training Authority (PSETA) has entered into a partnership with PARI for the funding of 6 Masters scholarships for the academic year 2015.  The scholarships will support talented students at Masters level in the fields of political science, economics and relevant social science disciplines wanting to:

 a)      understand what drives performance in government departments;

b)      contribute to the debate about capacity development in the public service;

c)      and help plan for skills development in the public service.

Applicants must be ready to and interested in conducting fieldwork within government departments. The scholarships are for R80 000 per annum for 2 years. Students will become PARI fellows and will be required to attend the PARI Dissertation Programme during their first year. As a South African Government organisation, PSETA’s mandate lies with the promotion of the South African public service. However, while preference will be given to South African applicants, this call is open to foreign nationals.
